British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health follows the boxing community offered its support for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
