The original stars, Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are confirmed to reprise their roles in the latest Hunger Games series film, Sunrise on the Reaping.
Reports indicate that beloved actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
A Major Reunion for Fans
Lawrence and Hutcherson are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. Speculation suggests their appearance will probably be featured in a flash-forward sequence, considering the original saga concluded with their characters married and with children.
This represents the sixth film in the global Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a 2025 novel by series creator Suzanne Collins. It will be the second prequel film after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed most of the previous films in the series.
The Storyline and Fresh Faces
The film's story are set roughly two decades prior to the first Hunger Games, centering on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, destined to become Katniss's mentor, is portrayed as a tribute in the deadly 50th Hunger Games.

- Ralph Fiennes takes on the part of a earlier incarnation of the menacing President Snow.
