A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt able to share openly about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can now put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the film, adding that he cannot recall "a single day without joy".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to helm it," Elwes continued.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Friend and Collaborator

In a distinct piece, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

In a new development, a Los Angeles judge agreed to prevent the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the LAPD.

A legal directive put a security hold on the cases to limit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" associated with the active case.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a official listing citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
